Chasing
things is what most people do.
Let's face it, that is what every
other teacher out there tells
you. You have to have a goal and
make it specific. Then you have
to establish a game plan, then
take action, etc., etc.,
etc.
Don't
misunderstand me. There is some
truth in some of that. But let's
take it a little bit deeper. What
if I say to you that all the
things you desire are waiting at
your doorstep, and what's
stopping your from receiving them
is that you are not opening the
door.
Here is
what I mean. When your heart
aches for something, you
naturally move. On the other
hand, when you are too busy
trying to chase something out
there, you need to push yourself
way too hard. That does not mean
that you do not make plans, nor
that you should not have a
strategy. What I mean is, the
strategy develops itself as you
are connected with your internal
guidance.
Let me
give you a scenario from an
outcome oriented perspective,
then one from an internally
driven one. Let's use my books
for example. You take a seminar
on how to write books so that you
can sell them online, in
bookstores, mail order and so on.
Then you
set up a financial target. Let's
say $50,000 by the end of the
year. So you start your game plan
and do your research. You start
writing, and even when you really
do not want to, you force
yourself to do it because that
was in the agenda. After struggle
and hard work, you now have your
book. Now it comes the marketing
part. And you know how much you
need to charge as well as how
many copies to sell in order to
achieve your goal.
You have
achieve your goal. Now what? Do
it all over again and again and
again until you are sick and
tired? That's what happens when
everything you do is with an end
in mind as opposed to a
purpose.
Let's try
the internally driven way. Let's
say you are "inspired" to write a
book. Now you take a lot of
action and your book is finished!
The difference is, before you had
a project to finish, now you have
a project you are excited about.
Then you start promoting it. This
time however you notice that you
are excited and enthusiastic
about promoting it to the point
where you hardly sleep. Not
because you NEED to do it but
because you WANT to do it.
Making a
long story short, two things will
happen simultaneously. 1) You
will never stop promoting your
book and 2), by the end of the
year you'll have made far much
more money than what you had
originally anticipated. There is
one more bonus. You'll understand
the true meaning of the word
"fulfillment."
Then
there is something magical. When
you are inspired to do something,
it is like of something is
guiding you to make such
decision. As a result, instead of
fighting the current sort of
speak, you find yourself drawing
into your space all the resources
you need in order to manifest
your desire, not to mention the
fact that as long as you allow
yourself to be guided you always
seem to end up at the right place
at the right time.
Why is
that? Because maybe, even when
you think you are making the
decision to write your book, on a
much deeper level that decision
was already made for you. You
just happen to be the vehicle
through which spirit wants to
bring that creation into the
word. Outcome oriented people
work hard, internally driven
people have it easy. That's what
is meant by effortless
accomplishments. And that only
happens when you are
driven, not chasing.
