Most people spend the majority
of their life trying to figure
out what is it they came here to
do. And the majority of them come
to that realization at the end of
their lives. Why? Because right
before they are about to make
their transition, they realize
that the work they came here to
do had nothing to do with
figuring things out. It had to do
with doing the things that brings
them joy.
In other words, the house, the
career, the boat, the money, all
the things they strived for,
mostly out of the need for
approval, where not really
important at all. People that
have been interviewed just before
they made their transition the
only thing they regret is the
fact that they didn't do what
they felt would have brought them
real joy. Things like, speaking
their truth, loving more people,
kissing more babies, taking that
painting class, or voice lessons,
or pursued their ideas, etc.
So basically the work we came
here to do has nothing to do with
figuring anything out. It is
something that arises naturally
as a result of doing the things
that brings us joy. When we do
so, something magical takes
place. We find ourselves in
careers we never even thought of
being a part of.
You take a gardening class for
example and something within you
awakens. Before you know it, you
are so inspired that ideas begin
to flow to the point where you
may end up being the CEO of a
company that distributes the
largest gardening magazine
worldwide. And the funny thing
is, you were an accountant who Al
though you were very well
compensated financially, couldn't
stand your job!
And you may ask yourself, "Why
did I ended up taking accounting
on the first place?" The answer
would be, because when you went
to college you knew you were good
with numbers and Al though many
other things called your
attention, you bought into the
idea that you needed to get a
"real career" so you settle for
what you thought was the right
thing to do as opposed to what
"felt" right to you. And the
truth is that what feels right
for people is for the most part
that which goes against either
the norm or what they have been
taught to ignore.
So from now on, get out of
your head and into your heart. As
Dave Wood reminds us by saying;
"Your mind has no answers, your
heart has no questions." Feel
your way through life and you'll
come to the realization that
there is nothing to figure out,
it is only a matter of being in a
position to allow!
