There were times when I was
confused and didn't know what to
do. Those times forced me to go
within deeper and deeper. And the
treasure I found was priceless.
In moments when my life appeared
to be falling apart, that's when
I experienced the most growth.
That did not mean that I had
to go through pain in order to
experience growth. It was that my
attention was away from truth at
that moment. My lack of
understanding of what was going
on created the experience of
chaos and suffering when in truth
I could have gone through the
very same thing with peace and
tranquility.
I remember when I had to give
up my apartment because I was in
a very difficult financial
situation. I really didn't have a
place to call my own, yet many
places began to manifest through
friends and family. And even when
I was taken care off, there were
times when I found myself in a
very judgmental and uncomfortable
place within myself. Sometimes I
got so caught up in not liking my
situation that I was missing the
blessing in the fact that I had
places to live. The truth is, I
didn't want my own place at the
moment because being a comedian,
I was getting ready to go out on
the road for a long period of
time so I didn't want to pay rent
for a place that was simply going
to sit there anyway. That taught
me that our fears will sometimes
find the way to interfere in the
unfoldment of a divine plan even
when our present situation is the
result of an answer prayer.
I recognize that our spiritual
journey may sometimes appear
overwhelming because in order to
recognize the power and the
presence of the Spirit within, we
need to let go of any
preconceived ideas of how things
should look or be. The challenge
is not necessarily in recognizing
our divinity but in letting go of
our beliefs and notions we have
incorporated in our lives through
out the years.
One thing I have learned that
have allowed me to carry on
through whatever is happening in
my life is the understanding that
everything is working in divine
order for my highest good. That
is why I can honestly say; "In my
darkest moments I didn't realized
that I was simply been given the
opportunity to shine my inner
light onto it." The only way we
can experience the divinity of
who we are, is in the presence of
that which we are not. When we
learn how to shine our light onto
anything that comes our way,
challenges may appear. Only this
time they wont have any power
over us.
