The Miracle Of Timing!

At a life transforming seminar I attended, the instructor reminded us that the Universe does not work on time it works on "timing". When people have dreams and find themselves "in the right place at the right time", the Universe is simply orchestrating everything in divine order to ensure that wishes manifest in an effortless manner.

We have been conditioned to believe that we have to work hard and struggle, yet the universe serves as a perfect model regarding how life really operates. To give you a more concrete idea on how this knowledge can be put into practice, I would like to share with you a personal life experience which I hope will inspire you to move in the direction of your dreams.

My life has been a stream of ups and downs. My spiritual journey began around 1987. I experienced many miracles yet at the same time I hit low points. After a series of events I experienced financial challenges. A dear friend called me out of the blue and asked me if I wanted to help at his business. This phone call helped me overcome my financial challenges.

I get an unexpected call from Marilyn, another dear friend living in California, whom I hadn't talked to in a while. She said she had an extra ticket for a three day event that would take place in Orlando, FL the last weekend of May 2004. The extra ticket had been for one of her customers in Orlando. Since her customer could not make it, she thought of me.

That particular weekend I had a comedy show scheduled, however, something inside of me said that I should attend the course instead. Well, I attended the course, and my whole life shifted. I was inspired to write my first book and continue my spiritual journey. (For more information on my first book visit: www.TheRadicalKid.com.)

Within a few short months my financial challenges lessened and many miracles took place in the form of many incredible changes and opportunities. Around May 2005, it was time for me to move back to California. I knew that was where my heart was. I was a little hesitant to move because real estate and rent are so high in California. Although my finances were okay, by any rational standards, moving to California would not have been the smartest economical move.

Of course, that's what happens when we listen to the mind and not the heart. We must remember that the mind sees the obstacles while the heart sees the possibilities. This reminds me of a great quote I once heard, "those who see the invisible can do the impossible."

Back to the story. In Orlando, the place I lived in was not conducive to my well-being because of one of my roommates. I did not feel at home. I felt my energy was affected and I knew I had to leave. At first I thought of moving to New Mexico, not necessarily because I have been there and liked it but because I felt that it was a little more cost effective and I could still feel that spiritual connection with the mountains. But my heart was really in California. I wanted to be in contact with the ocean. So there I was. I didn't want to live in Florida. The place I was in did not feel like home, and my dream to move to California felt scary because the financial situation did not make sense. And honestly, I didn't want to end up living in some kind of a dump while I was getting my feet back on the ground.

So regardless of those fears and limiting rationalizations, what did I do? I told my roommate that I would be leaving by July 30 and that I was relocating to the west coast. I then started doing my inner work - visualization. I saw myself in a beautiful place in California overlooking the ocean. Now here is the thing, I didn't know where in California to move. I knew I wanted something I felt spiritually connected to. And I wanted to move to a place where I felt wealth.

I didn't want to live in a place that was uninspiring. And of course, I wanted to be close to the ocean. What came to mind? San Diego.

I decided San Diego was where I was going to live. I was very skeptical about telling people about my move because I did not want them to start giving me suggestions, or advice, or even express their own opinion about housing prices, etc. I did not want to feel like I had to justify anything. All I knew was, I wanted to move, and I would be taken care of. During that time I am not going to deny that fears tried to take over my mind. However, I kept my focus on my inner work - visualization.

On July 17 to 21, 2005, I attended a seminar in the beautiful mountains of Beaumont, California. I flew out a few days early to spend a little time in what I knew was going to be my future home. I visited my cousin and some friends. I drove through San Diego, and even when I did not see where I intended to live, I just knew that I wanted to relocate there. I told everybody that I was moving to San Diego, even when some of those fears would come up.

Then I took the seminar. Right there and then, my decision to move solidified in my gut. Let me share a few things I learned from the seminar which cannot compare to the incredible four and a half days experience that simply took my life to a whole new level. Here are few little distinctions that helped me make the decision to move to California.

Most people believe that commitment restricts freedom. The truth is commitment does not restrict your freedom. Only "indecision" restricts freedom. Why? Because when you are indecisive, you are pulled in two opposite directions at the same time. You become immobilized.

In Blair Singer's book titled "Sales Dogs", Blair reminds us we are better off making a decision and correcting later than not making a decision at all. By making a decision we are putting energy into motion. Now, here is the beauty of commitments. When you commit 100%, not 99.9% or 90% but 100%, you bring clear energy into your desired result. You will begin to attract into your space all the necessary resources needed to help you attain your dream.

Another wonderful piece of wisdom from this seminar was the message that when you Look at the universe you see things and space. Most people look at things with space around it. Makes sense right? Think about it. When you look at the world around you what do you see? Cars, houses, mountains, people, trees, objects, etc. Get a hold of this. The deliberate creator or better yet, "miracle maker" looks at the empty space with things around it. Why? Because in the space between things is the open canvas to create whatever reality you desire. The things that we see are simply creations in that empty space.

When people make the mistake of looking at things to make their decisions, they look at "what is", instead of "what it could be", they limit their potential. If I were looking at my "what was" financially, the move to California might not have made any sense. Again, most people look at the visible to create the possible instead of looking at the invisible in order to create what appears to be the impossible -which is actually the possible within the realm of possibilities.

As I focused on San Diego, I always kept my awareness in the empty space. I knew that everything would work out just fine.

Are you ready for the miracle?

The day after the training I attempted to head back to Orlando. I had only one week to pack before my journey to California. I had two tours lined up on the East coast as a stand up comedian. During the seminar I received a few calls from a booking agent out of Kentucky. He wanted to add a few more dates to my first tour. That was a good thing. From California the traveling expenses from the west coast to the east coast would increase. When living in Florida, the only travel cost I had was gasoline. Now I would need to add airfare, car rental and gasoline.

My flight to Orlando was delayed to the point where I would miss my connecting flight. The airline offered to fly me on an alternate route that would include an overnight flight. I asked if they could just put me in a hotel for the evening and I'd pick up the next morning flight. They gratefully did that and gave me few vouchers for meals. The next morning my flight was overbooked. I volunteered my seat and received a $200 flight voucher. The next flight was also overbooked and I received a $400 voucher. The next one was also overbooked. I ended up receiving a total of $1000 in flying vouchers and the airline paid for another night at the hotel with more meal vouchers. The $1000 of flight vouchers took care of all my flying expenses for my upcoming comedy tours in the mid-west and on the east coast.

In Orlando, I picked up my mail which included a letter from an investment group asking me if I was willing to sell my piece of land that I owned in Florida. The land was going to be auctioned by the state because the taxes were not paid.

Let me give you a little history on that property. I inherited this property from my Grandmother back in the early 90's. Around 1997, I was homeless and filed for bankruptcy. I gave the property to the county because I could not pay the taxes. End of story, right? EIGHT YEARS LATER, just a few days after the seminar, a few days before I would move to California, after I received $1,000 worth of travel vouchers, I get this letter not from the state but from an independent company (who tracked me down God knows how), offering me $5,000 and willing to pay all the taxes if I would sell the property to them.

First, I was taken a little bit by surprise. I thought this must be some kind of a joke. The county's last address for me was in West Los Angeles, California dating back to 1997. Second, I started to wonder why someone would want to offer me $5,000 in cash for that lot. I called the county office with the lot number and all the information regarding the property contained in the letter sent to me by the investment company. The county office told me that the lot was still under my name and that it would go to a tax auction pretty soon. I asked what the tax debt was and they said $901.00. Can you guess what I did? I paid it on the spot! Then I contacted a few real estate agents in the local area to let me know what the current market value of the property was. Are you ready for this? The actual fair market value was $47,000.

Talk about timing. Do the miracles stop there? NO! It gets better.

Let's recap before the big finale!

  • I wanted to move to CA. (Everyone said the living expenses were very high).
  • I wanted a place on the beach. (Rent would be $2,000 or more, or a house probable in the millions).
  • I wanted to be in a very spiritual environment.
  • I had a date set up and I was moving no matter what. (This showed my commitment).
  • Also this time I had some money in the bank and I was worth over $47,000 because of my unexpected reclaiming of property ownership.
  • And I had over $1,000 in FREE travel vouchers.

I left for San Diego with a U-Haul and all my belongings. It took me five days to get to California from Florida. On the third day, I got a hold of Dan who offered to let me stay in his house in San Diego while I got myself situated. I didn't want to be dependent on someone, plus, there was the concern of what if I don't find something and I stayed there too long. However, I kept using the tools I learned in the seminar and continued to focus on the empty space, grateful for a beautiful place in San Diego, California while at the same time I detached myself completely from the outcome.

Are you ready? The day before my arrival, I checked my email from the hotel. Look at the forwarded email I received from my friend Lynn:

Maybe the place was not in San Diego, California, but in life, it is good to be flexible. The place is in Capistrano Beach, California, just one hour north of San Diego and one hour south of Los Angeles. And guess what? It is just 10 MINUTES away from my cousin in San Clemente.

The beauty of it all is I had NOTHING TO DO with all those events. I kept my focus on the empty space, the space of pure potentiality, released myself from any outcomes, and trusted that the universe would handle everything in divine "TIMING".
