Multilevel
marketing has become very popular
and it is definitely a very
powerful way to generate great
passive income. I highly
recommend it. However, there is a
catch. It takes a lot of work and
dedication.
The
typical line in multilevel
marketing is, "If you can just
talk to 30 people a year, blah,
blah, blah, you could generate
good qualified leads that would
help you build your
business." Well, there is a
catch. Talking to 30 people a
year, unless you are very
fortunate, would take YOU years
to build up your business. So
then, in order to generate 30
qualified people, you would need
to talk to hundreds, who knows,
maybe thousands.
I don't
know about you but that does not
sound very compelling to me. As a
matter of fact, that is why
multilevel marketing companies
needs to create weekly or monthly
meetings. They even hire speakers
just to keep their sales force
motivated. And if you have read
some of my articles, or even read
my book, The Truth About
Selling, you pretty much
know how I feel about motivation.
I have made it very clear that
motivation does
not work. Inspiration
does. And inspiration
is something that arises
naturally because it is closely
related to your life's purpose,
your mission on this
planet.
Returning
to our topic of discussion, what
is the key to talk to thousands
of people in order to generate
those 30 qualified leads.
Enthusiasm. For example,
have you ever seen a movie that
really touches you and you start
telling all your friends, family,
even people you do not know to go
to see it? Not let me ask you.
Are you being financially
compensated for telling them
about the movie?
Then why
are you sharing that with them?
Because you are enthusiastic
about it. When you really
understand that, you'll see that
it is very easy to talk to
hundreds, even thousands of
people about whatever it is you
want to sell. In other words, you
are not selling your product, you
are simply sharing your genuine,
and the key word
is, "genuine" enthusiasm.
What's the result? More people
wanting to buy your product
resulting in more money for
you!
So before
choosing a multilevel marketing
company, make sure the product
they are offering is something
you truly believe in because that
is what will keep you wanting to
tell everybody about it. It has
to be something you are really
enthusiastic about.
For
example, my friend Dr. Marilyn
Joyce, who is a cancer
survivor loves to talk about
health and nutrition. She is very
passionate about it. She found a
product that delivers whole food
based nutrition which she
believes in. She speaks to
thousands on a subject that is
very dear to hear. So having a
company that delivers a product
that is congruent with her value
is a no brainer and that is why
she is very successful at what
she does. She may have only few
qualified leads out of thousands
who listen to her but that is
irrelevant because she will
continue to talk about what she
believes in no matter what. The
result, more clients which leads
to more passive income for
her.
So stop
trying to sell anything. That
takes a lot of hard work!
Instead, find something you are
enthusiastic about and tell the
whole world about it. Would you
like a clue? Anything you are
genuinely enthusiastic about, at
some level is closely related to
your life's purpose. Follow that
motto and money will come to
you from expected and unexpected
sources.
