Denial vs Awareness

The difference between denial and awareness is, denial is when something is happening and we pretend that it is not, while awareness enable us to understand that whatever is happening is simply giving us an opportunity to grow.

The truth is, every experience is simply allowing us the gift of recreating yourself a new. People in denial feel as if they can't do anything about what is happening in their lives while people with awareness understand that they have the power to change their circumstances and generate whatever outcome they desire. In other words, denial yield to powerlessness while awareness lead to powerfulness!

Another things about denial is that people who engage in it live under the assumption that things are happening to them. That is why they feel as if they are victims. People who practice awareness understand that in some way they are co-creators of their so called "reality." That is why they can look at any condition(s) or circumstance(s) with confidence. Because deep in their gut they know that they can create a new reality that is more in alignment with their own desires.

So the questions is, how can we create the reality we desire? By noticing what's going on in our minds. The way we think, speak and act, contributes to the creation of whatever reality we are experiencing. In other words, the result of all these three aspects of ourselves working in harmony or disharmony is, our present reality!

We must remember that the way we think and speak to ourselves, does not define our truth. It simply creates in the outside world our own idea of what reality means to us. Because the truth of the matter is, who we are is for the most part, far much more than what we have allowed ourselves to be. In essence, who we are is divine love, perfect health, unlimited wealth, peace, happiness, joy, wisdom, and we are in this world to remember those truths.

Our physical world is nothing but an empty canvas that allows us to paint whatever reality we choose. The only difference is, in the canvas of a painter, what shapes the images are colors and lines. In the canvas of our lives, what shapes our reality is our beliefs. If a painter chooses the color blue and with a stroke of the brush place it on the canvas a beautiful sky appears. Just like the painter, if we belief that something we want can be attained, with a stroke of our beliefs, "there it is," right before our own eyes!

The next question is, how long will it take before the belief manifests into reality? This question has been answered since the beginning of time. Before the painter creates the sky, she must see it first! Then without question, the painter dips the brush into the blue ink, few strokes across the canvas, and guess what? Will she see that blue sky for the first time? The answer is no! She will see it for the second time. Why? Because she already saw it for the first time in awareness, in her thoughts, in her mind. All she needed to do was to bring it out. And what motivated her to take action and bring it out with the confidence that when she place the brush on the canvas, the image will appear? FAITH!

See, her belief motivated her to take action. Her faith reminded her that the result was already in place. Having the faith that the result in already there is what feeds the belief that motivates us to continue to take action. "If you have faith like the mustard seed, you can moved mountains." "To the degree that you have faith, to that degree will be done unto you."

Here is a personal live example. Back in 1997 or so, after loosing everything I had, I ended up homeless living out of my car. There were times where my budget was only $6.00 so I figure, with that at least I can get three sandwiches. I remember times having to sleep in my car on rest stops because I needed to save on gas in order to get to the next town. During those times however, I never let go of the idea that I will some day record my music and continue moving in the direction of my dreams.

Al thought the circumstances may reflect a "reality" that said, I could not afford, blah, blah, blah... I would find myself going to music studios asking questions about recording gear and learning about them because I knew that I will be purchasing my own recording gear and will record my own CD. I never said to them that I didn't have the money to purchase the gear, nor I said to them or myself that I could not afford it. I would simply say something like. "I am doing some research so when I make my final decision regarding which gear to purchase, at least I am well educated on the matter." So when the world would ask:

Do you have more than $6.00 in your pocket?

The seemingly obvious answer was No.

Do you have a house where you can sleep in at the moment?

The seemingly obvious answer was No.

Do you own a recording studio?

The seemingly obvious answer was No.

Can you afford to record your music?

The seemingly obvious answer was No.

Do you think you can make your dreams come true then?

My obvious answer was YES!

Basically, I never allowed my circumstances to determine what course of action to take. I simply used whatever challenge(s) I was presented with as opportunities to remind myself of the fact that there is nothing I can't do as long as I have enough faith and belief in myself.

So while most people look at the world around them, their so called "hard cold facts," and use them as a way to determine what is possible for them, I continued to look inside as a reminder of the fact that the blue sky the painter saw in the outside for the second time, is the same reality I was in the process of creating. But instead of the blue sky, I was just creating my music studio.

With my faith I saw the music studio. With my beliefs replacing the painter's brushes I moved in that direction. And I used the canvas of my life to paint my beliefs into it. The result, I saw my studio for the second time. If you would like to see it as well, visit my website: http://www.CheckMyMusic.com and you'll see a picture of my music studio and audio clips of the music CD that is about to be released.

If I had been in denial, I would have felt helpless. With my awareness however, I am powerful! And guess what? So are you!
