We hear
so much about weapons of mass
destruction. I remember one of my
favorite authors, Neale Donald
Walsch talking about weapons of
mass destruction in regards to
the fact that most people think
that these are only military
weapons, artillery, bombs, etc.
But really, weapons of mass
destruction has to do more with
the way governments and people
treat one another.
There is
nothing more destructive than
denying a human being the
privileges and opportunities they
deserve. People who go hungry
when there is so much food
available on the planet. People
who can barely afford a place to
live in places where there is so
much abundance. Education being
denied to some, even health-care
which by the way, my book
The
Truth About Western
Medicine addresses that
issue in great detail.
Then
someone brought something to my
attention that really helped
shift my way of thinking.
Something I have heard a while
ago by listening to the teachings
of Abraham through Ester Hicks,
just in different words. Abraham
was talking about the fact that
even when there are things in the
world which we may disagree with
like social injustice, hunger,
poverty, war, etc., we can only
make positive changes if we do
not allow those circumstances
determine the way we feel. And
that is because we cannot make a
positive impact when our energy
is low, or negative. By doing so,
we are simply adding fuel to the
fire sort of speak.
We need
to keep our vibration high at all
times so that we can influence
positively the circumstance(s) we
are set out to change. As Gandhi
reminds us, "BE" the change you
seek into the world." Another
saint by the name of Mother
Theresa once was asked to help
participate in a protest against
war. Here reply was, "I wont
participate in a protest against
war, but if you have a march
"FOR" peace, I'll be
there."
And that
is because the Buddha reminds us
that you will not be punished
"FOR" your anger,
you'll be punished
"BY" your anger. So
Dr. Reverend Michael Beckwith,
founding minister of the Agape
International Center of Truth, in
his powerful 2006 new year's day
service said something that
helped me understand that all the
media is trying to do, is keep us
afraid with all these weapons of
mass destruction stuff when
indeed, these are nothing but
weapons of mass "distraction." Why? Because it
keeps people's awareness filled
with fear. And what we need to do
is, as we move in the direction
of making positive changes, we
must keep our awareness in love,
truth, God.
That is
how we can "become" the change we
seek to experience in this world.
By allowing our energy of love,
peace, and compassion within us
to shine, we can then positively
influence the world.
