The Cherry Bluestorms. Deborah Gee was placing songs from her solo album "Portal" in TV shows and films. She was looking for a guitarist when she met Glen Laughlin at a coffeehouse. Glen had been developing the alterenative tunings that are a signature of his style while playing and singing with punk pop legends The Dickies (A&M) and former The Pop frontman David Swanson (RCA). He had also begun to produce other artists and opened Roundhouse Recording. The pair began working on what was supposed to become Deborah's second solo album. After meeting drummer Ryan Brown at a party, they determined to form a band.

Born into a multi-ethnic family, Gina Rene grew up in the Bohemian setting of Santa Cruz. Recognizing the influence Hip-Hop music has on youth the world over, Gina feels a great need for positive role models and she is especially concerned with the imbalance of the role women play in the music scene.
